Look Inside
Look Inside
I let my gaze come to rest on the spectacle before me.
Four girls.
Four beauties, because the Willow’s only breed beauties.
Three dolls, perfect with their golden hair and enormous blue eyes. One…well…I cock my head to the side at the sight of her. This one is bound, her arms stretched behind her. A gag covers her mouth.
And on the belly of her shift, there’s a streak of red.
Pig’s blood.
I decide to save her for last.
I move to the first, let my gaze slide over her. She drops hers to the floor, where it should have been all along. I sweep her from head to toe and back. The sheath doesn’t offer much cover, but that’s the point. They are to be laid out for my perusal. For me to take my pick.
Because I am fortunate enough to be born a Scafoni and they unfortunate enough to be born a Willow.
This one is pretty enough. Perfect, actually. But I move on to her sister.
Another doll-like girl.
She doesn’t drop her gaze to her feet but keeps it just beyond me. It’s high time the Willows were reminded of their place.
This one has something different in her eyes. She’s coquettish, almost. And she’s making eyes at my brother. From the look of her, I’m surprised she’s not the one with the blood marking on her sheath.
With her, I’ll be bored. And she won’t survive a single month, much less three years.
Sadly, there are no trade-ins. Once the choice is made, it is made, and if the girl dies before her time is completed, well, our loss, I guess.
It’s unfair, really.
I step to my left, to the next block, the next girl.
Just like her sisters.
I’m too anxious to reach the last one to spend any time on this one because perfection like this, it doesn’t interest me. I need more than physical beauty.
Where is the fun in breaking a girl when she doesn’t have a spine to break? Where is the game in walking a meek little lamb to the slaughter?
I’d prefer a cat, wild and feral, with sharp teeth and a sharper tongue.
With this thought in mind, I step to the last Willow Girl.
She isn’t a doll. Not like her sisters, at least. Beautiful, still, but this one, there’s something about her, a darkness to her. Rebellion burning inside her.
Or maybe it’s just arrogance.
It makes one corner of my mouth curve upward.
This one is no lamb. I see it in the icy midnight eyes that greet me, and I realize why she’s bound and gagged. She’d lunge at me if she could, and the thought makes my dick hard.
I walk a circle around her and confirm that her wrists are bound in leather restraints at her lower back. Not only that, but she’s shackled to the block. I guess they weren’t taking any chances.
When I face her again, she doesn’t shy away, this girl, but holds my gaze. And right now, I want nothing more than to punish her for it…

I’m one of four Willow daughters.
He’s the first-born son of the Scafoni family. And we have history.
For generations, the Scafoni family have demanded a sacrifice of us. A virgin daughter to atone for sins so old, we don’t even remember what they are anymore.
But when you have as much money as they do, you don’t play by the rules. You make them.
And Sebastian Scafoni makes all the rules.
The moment I saw him, I knew he would choose me. Even though the mark on my sheath declared me unclean. Even though my beautiful sisters stood beside me, offered to him, he still chose me.
He made me his.
And then he set out to break me.

This book is so so good. This whole series is different, at times heartbreaking, but I love the solution of generations of abuse.Don’t miss this series.
What a difference book. It’s dark yet not to dark. It’s a great read. Can’t wait to read book 2.
Couldn’t go to sleep until I finished reading! The plot kept me on my toes! Didn’t want it to finish!
Trying to find books that captivate me is so.etimes difficult, but this one I just could not put down!!The story is great with twists and turns...Highly recommend 👌
I like this story. Sebastian and Helena have chemistry; I'm glad that they get an HEA. This story has action, drama, violence, and plenty of emotion.
I like the storyline but I did have some issues with the characters. The main female, Helena, is very naive. The main hero, Sebastian, cares about her, but Helena doesn't trust it because she didn't choose to be there. The interaction between the two is frustrating because they could be good together if they communicated.
This book has made me say wow 3 different times, the suspense, the drama, the murders, the complex characters, the past them[resent and the cliffhanger, it’s 12:30am on a Wednesday night and I have to start book 2…I have too
I really enjoyed Amelia and Gregory’s story. I loved how Amelia challenged Gregory. She didn’t make it easy for him. I love a strong heroine. Gregory was his arrogant, alpha male self and I think he enjoyed the challenge that Amelia gave him. I liked how I got answers to the questions from Torn but in this book there were some unanswered questions too. Like what about Ethan and what happened with Lucinda.Overall I enjoyed Twisted. It held my interest and kept me turning the page. It’s not as dark as the first two books. But it has some interesting elements to it. I give Twisted and this trilogy two thumbs up!!!
This was a wild ride and somewhat twisted story. Helena and Sebastian’s story was quite the emotional roller coaster ride. The things that happened between Helena, Sebastian and Gregory had my emotions all over the place. I was shocked by what Gregory did and what it meant but I guess I’ll find out in the third book.Overall this was a good duet and Helena and Sebastian are one couple I want soon forget. I highly recommend it if you like dark and twisted romance stories. I give it two thumbs up!!!
Very good start to this trilogy. I love that Helena is sassy and not afraid to speak up for herself and stand up to Sebastian. She does suffer some pretty bad punishments but she still stands up for herself. I have a love hate relationship with Sebastian . The ending was a very big shocker. I can’t wait to see how this ends and if Helena and Sebastian get their HEA. Taken gets two thumbs up from me.
Read book one, it was so unique that I just had to continue reading book two. Planning to read book three. Thank you for non-boring of story.
Love how strong willed Helena to break the pattern of the Willow Girl and stand up to the btithers in this second book.
This is book three in the Dark Legacy Trilogy and you should definitely read books one and two before reading this one. What happened between Gregory, Sebastian, and Helena twisted Gregory and it made him want his own Willow Girl. He has been following Amelia Willow and manipulates her into a situation only he can get her out of, even if she doesn't want to go with him. This is a great trilogy and book three brings it all together!
This is book two in the Dark Legacy Trilogy and will still leave you with questions at the end, which I hope will be answered in the third book. Helena Willow just wants to find a way to end the cycle where the Scafoni men come and take a Willow girl in order to break her over the next three years. It seems there is so much more to this whole tradition and it seems to cause so many problems along the way. Sebastian Scafoni chooses Helena as the Willow girl but it seems he has no intentions of following the tradition because he does not want to share his Willow Girl with his brothers. This causes major problems and in the end Sebastian may have to hurt Helena in order to save her. This book is not the end of the story so be prepared to still have questions. I am looking forward to book three, Twisted to see if it all works out.
A Willow girl will be sacrificed to a Scafoni man once again and all for what? Helena Willow is one of the quadruplet girls that is placed on blocks for what the call the Reaping. This is where the oldest Scafoni son gets to choose which of the four girls him and his brothers get to use for the next three years. It is an archaic tradition and Helena doesn't understand it and she can't figure out why her parents are even going along with it. There are certain ways things are supposed to be done and some of the Scafoni family members are not happy with Sebastian when he chooses Helena, especially since she has been deemed "unclean". Helena is truly alone and has no one to rely on and even though Sebastian says he is her only ally, she doesn't feel she can trust him and with the way he handles things he does show her he is trustworthy either. This is a great first book in the series and ends on a heart stopping cliffhanger. I'm dying to know what happens next in book two, Torn.
I am glad Gregory realized he needed a different Willow girl. Amelia certainly was better suited for him than Helena. I hate that Sebastian shared Helena with him, only knowing it really would hurt him. I always felt sorry for him in the other book. And boy his mother really was a piece of work. Such a hateful woman. She got off easy if you ask me. Can’t stop reading books by this author. She has such really good stories for her characters. I am going to re-read her books…each and every one
I can’t believe she doesn’t realize how good he is to her in the beginning. It’s like she keeps asking for his cruelty. He is the nicest compared to all the other men characters in other stories by this author. Gee whiz, Sebastian fell for her from the beginning. I believe he is trying to help her along but yet he punishes her and she loves it. I don’t understand her. I think she is not a very smart girl. I don’t like this story like I do the others but still I will finish it because the story is good
Beware of trigger warnings. This author is great but this series is really dark. I'm very glad it ended at two books. I will read the next book as it is a part of this series but i really hope it's not about this couple. Anyway, yes it's dark but a good read n so far HEA.
Great read ,riveting, fascinating story about 2 families in crisis . Both being hurt by their legacy. I’m sure next one will be as good,
This one did a lot of recaps from the previous books and it seemed like Gregory and Amy where just living in their siblings shadows wanting what they had .
Good ! I didn’t know which direction this book would go with all the back and fourth between the brothers and how torn Helene seemed to become between the two but I enjoyed the ending .
First book by this author and I’m impressed . I enjoy how she writes and keeps the story going . Can’t wait to read the next one .
Helena gets on my nerves. She is busy fighting, and she doesn't stop an observe. I guess that's what gives the book that edge of suspense.
I enjoyed reading all 3 stories in the trilogy. Was nice to see the journey of Amelia and Gregory. I kind of wish there was more of Sebastian and Helena.
I enjoyed listening and reading this first story in the trilogy. Sebastian and Helena have been on a roller coaster ride of emotions on their journey.
DNF - not my jam 1) cliffhanger, 2) sharing, 3) too @busive for my tastes and I like'em dark.
Wow!!! This captured me within the first 5 pages. The characters were awesome. Helena wasn't too submissive, and Sebastián was the perfect alpha. The brother and stepmother wanted you to hate them, but like too. Natasha didn't disappoint.
I’m used to the sequel never living up to the first book…. But this book definitely was not one of those. Holy moly this was a fast read and a page turner!! Love love love
I kind of hate how much I loved this book. One of the darkest I’ve ever read but I couldn’t put it down. Finished this book in one day. Absolutely captivating.
I've read all three books as the first was Absolutely tense all books was pretty awesome reads I love Natasha Knight all her books so writes dark romance like crazy Gregory I wasn't sure about in first two but grew to love all characters.
