Gabriela
Stefan Sabbioni showed up uninvited in my bedroom on my sixteenth birthday. He stood in the shadows smelling of whiskey and death and wrapped a broken, blood-crusted necklace around my neck.
I thought he’d strangle me with it.
That night, he left a message for my father. He said he’d be back to take something precious.
I never delivered that message, though. I wonder if things would be different if I had because now, two years later, he’s back. And he’s not hiding in any shadows.
He’s come to make good on his promise.
He’s back to take that something precious.
Me.
Stefan
Marchese is the manipulator of my family’s tragedy. I won’t just bring him to his knees. I’ll bury him for what he did.
Taking his daughter is only the beginning. I’ll do it knowing I’m starting a war. I’ll do it knowing my enemies will become his allies. They’ll stop at nothing to destroy me and he’ll stop at nothing to get her back.
I’ve never shied away from war, though. I’m not one to play nice and I don’t share my toys. I’ll demolish you if you touch what’s mine.
And she is most definitely mine.
*Please note this is book 1 of the Collateral Damage Duet.

The usual protected mafia princess who's only value is as a pawn. Sadistic father. A forced engagement with a man who is out for revenge. One huge Cliffhanger!! I'm glad I only read completed series!!Read through KU
Excellent story. I would not have read if I had known it wasn't a stand-alone, but it is a great mafia story. Murder, control, child manipulation.
Good dark romance , I didn’t want to put it down . Can’t wait to read the next one .
I don’t have time to review. I need to read the next one. This one was great and I look forward to the next.
This has everything it should. A spirited Mafia Princess, a heartless Mafia Prince. Violence, and anger and a glimpse of hope. I can’t wait to start the next book.
This book was so well written that I couldn't put it down! I fell in love with the characters and this author and immediately started book 2 and have finished it as well! Adding more of her books to my Library to read!
Gabriel Marchese is in the Mafia. His 16 year old daughter Gabriela is visited in her bedroom on her 16th birthday by Stefan Sabbioni. He gives her a bloody necklace and tells her to give her father a message. The message is Stefan will be back to take what is his. 2 years later, Gabriela is 18 and tries to escape from her father’s house because he is trying to force her to marry into the Irish mob to make the alliance stronger. She is captured and brought back to her father’s house.Gabriel has a new plan. He is forcing Gabriela to sign papers that she will marry Stefan Sabbioni. Gabriela knows that Stefan is holding something big over her father’s head for him to cancel the other marriage contract and set up this new one. Stefan is basically claiming Gabriela for himself. What is Stefan holding over Gabriel Marchese’s head? Are Stefan and Gabriela all business or are they secretly attracted to each other? Will they end up married?
Really tried to like Gabbi, but she was just an annoying little brat. I feel she's to young for the book. Stefan is a mafia Don who is arranged to marry his enemy only daughter. All the dislike toward her father, she still does the ultimate betrayal. Enjoyed Stefan and his cousin Ends in a cliff hanger, I'm on the fence on buying it.I voluntarily reviewed this advance reader copy of this book
While I'm not generally a fan of duets, I really enjoyed this book and would rate it 4.5. Gabriela's father is a cold, ruthless mafia kingpin who's arranged her marriage to the son of an Irish mob boss. Resisting her destiny, she tries to break away only to be dragged back and surprisingly placed in the hands of Stefan, the head of a Sicilian crime family. Taken away from her home and soon to be married to a new enemy, secrets are around every corner as her new fiancé has his own score to settle with her family. Ghosts of the past are aplenty with Gabriela not knowing who is friend and who is foe as she's traded from one desperate situation to another. There was a lot to like for me in this book, even though I'm not a fan of a young heroine (the age different is 18/29 or so) and the whole arranged marriage and 'we're enemies but he's really good looking' can irk me. It was done well here and I liked the author's take on it with there still being a good amount of animosity scattered throughout the book. And while there was great chemistry, there isn't an abundance of smexy times and I think this made a better read, too. Gabriela was young, but she wasn't too stupid to live as you find in a lot of books with similar tropes. I really liked her character and her more realistic take on her situation. Stefan stole the show for me, however, and was a great male lead that went from caring to cold depending on the weather, with the author still managing to make him likeable. I loved how she made him grin, too - generally the male leads in mafia tropes are all stone-faced for most of the book. Quick trigger warning - there is a small amount of spanking for punishment in this book, FYI.There were a few editing issues (not glaring ones, however) and a tiny bit of other woman jealousy (which is not my thing at all), but this wasn't a big issue. There was a good amount of intrigue with the reader getting most of the plot clues but with a few surprises thrown in for good measure..
Female lead was annoying with her bad decisions and immature behavior. Male lead was likeable after he made up his mind and stuck with a decision. But alas these are staples in the romance genre. Little (too little) adult material in first book. Ends with a cliffhanger so buy both books at once.
Out of they frying pan into the FIRE!!! This duet stucked you into it immediately... Gabriella daughter of Gabriel Marchese is blackmailed into giving his only daughter to Sicilian Mobster Stefan Sabbioni for marriage. Gabriel believes Sicillan are beneath him and hate Stefan. So you know what Stefan has on Gabriel must leave him no other choice. On Gabriella 16th birthday Stefan leaves Gabriella a message to deliver to her father with a trinket with dried blood all over it, however Gabriella never delivers the message nor the trinket. That is until the tender age of eighteen when Stefan comes to collect his debt. Gabriella is a strange mix of innocent and naivety but also have learned to deal with ways of monsters. Being raised by her father and life-experiences and her fathers abusive & aggressive ways, Gabrielle has learned to hide how she feels around her father.Stefan Sabbioni will take everything Gabriel Marchese took from him, starting with the precious daugher, she’s just a pawn in his plan for the ultimate revenge. Gabriela’s father took something from him. Now Stefan is willing to return the favor. This time he plans on taking EVERYTHING including Gabriel's daughter because now she belongs to ME. I’m not one to play nice and I don’t share my toys. I’ll demolish you if you touch what’s mine. And she is most definitely mine. love it!!!
I love how there is a cliffhanger but we do get some answers. The cliffhanger isn't cruel. But what a story this is. I'm sitting here reading it all at once. Its written so well. I'm on to book 2
Another enthralling book that keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting for what craziness happens next. Who is the lesser of evils, Gabriela’s father or the man he signed her life over to? Her journeys will keep you questioning that as well. The cliff hanger is a killer and I must move on to the next book!
Gabriel is a sad lonely person. She has suffered at the hands of her cruel, sadistic father. She was taken by a man of many emotions. Natasha knight reels you in beautifully the characters in this amazing story
This book was just excellent. Good storyline. Twists for sure. The scenes of **dual nature were written to be sensual. Don’t get me wrong..I like hot *ex scenes as well as the next person but the sensuality just made for class. Fell in love w the main characters who had so many hurts in their lives because of other people who we’re supposed to nurture them instead of use them for their own agendas.
I loved this book so much and am anxious to read the next one. I love everything that md knight has written.
This is my first book by this author. I picked it out off a recommendation from another reader and I'm really happy I listened. This book is really well done. Enough action and tension to keep a reader turning pages in anticipation, while giving you real characters that arent a reach to care about. Im excited to get to the second book.
oh man this was good. great mafia arranged marriage plot. the reasoning behind stefans action greatly depicted in the beginning so hes the arse you cant help but be hopeful for. gabriellas innocence but knowledge of that life, i found was a cute personality on her. the things she went through contributing to how she thinks just makes everything realistic. loved her flaws and loved how stefan was able to see reason once he thought about things. great read
Ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger, but the second book is already released. Arranged marriages are my addiction and Natasha Knight has just caught me. Gabriela has always been her father’s pawn and now she’ll be Stefan’s pawn as his betrothed and then his wife.
I knew as soon as the first page I was going to love Collateral just as much as all the other books Natasha Knight has written. She has a way of captivating you with her words and keeping your attention. Great read.
Really good book. It's my favorite trope, and I'm glad she nailed that aspect for me.
I can honestly say I’ll be reading more of this authors work. I could not stop once I started reading it.
Till it became a cliffhanger sequel. How many will I be required to read to get an ending. That’s what sucks about these unnecessary trilogies.
Gabriela is amazing. She stands up for herself and Alex. Shes been through so much loss but she stays strong. Cant wait to start reading book 2
This book had me on the edge of my seat pretty much the whole way through. It's gripping, captivating, suspenseful, angsty, fast paced and a great read!
The story itself was good, however, Gabriela was so clueless it was annoying. Complaining & whining the whole book! Cliff hanger so you buy 1/2the book at a time.
This story is freaking awesome!Awesome!!!I hate cliff hangers, but luckily, the next book has already been released.I have loved every moment of this story and I can barely wait to start the next one. (Which will be once I’m done writing this.)I highly recommend this story!
This book hits my sweet spot. It is one of my favorite genres to read, and it is done well. Enough dark to keep it interesting, but not way over the top. The characters are well fleshed out and the story line is believable.
So many twist and turns. Stephan is can be so cold and it seems like he’s finally starting to feel something for gabi but why she would trust her horrible dad I just don’t know, that man is cruel. I want to smack gabi sometimes cause she really needs to lighten up and not be a butt, she has feelings for him but they are both so stubborn it seems. This was really good, fixing to start the next one!
